Independent web development & applied AI
Through my own web studio I design and build sites end to end, and use AI day to day for research, prototyping, and quality control.
- Run a small web studio, taking projects from requirements through design, build, testing, and launch.
- Rebuilt the full live site for Financial Decisions, a financial advisory practice, and built the site for Refresh Homes, a painting company — both live, both built with Astro, Tailwind CSS, and Netlify.
- Built this site from scratch in Next.js and React.
- Use AI daily for research, prototyping, and quality control. It's part of the toolkit, not the headline.

Aluma Systems, Engineer I
Special Projects Group. Temporary works for complex high-rise projects: design, FEA and calculation packages, product development through to manufacture, internal tools, and mentoring.
- Designed and analysed temporary works for high-rise and special projects: formwork, shoring, and custom hydraulic protection platforms.
- Designed a custom hydraulic protection system for a major residential tower: 36 steel screens giving five levels of wind and fall protection, climbing roughly 40 storeys as the build went up.
- Took a truss system adaptor from fleet measurements and SolidWorks prototypes through manufacturing drawings, manufacturer quality checks, and fit and structural testing; presented the results to leadership and the part was adopted into the active fleet.
- Produced complete calculation packages using SolidWorks FEA, AutoCAD, Autodesk Robot, and hand calculations.
- Built an Excel/VBA shoring load calculator: slab and equipment in, maximum spacing, spacing diagram, and leg loads out, feeding quick area-based pricing quotes.
- Wrote the user guide for the internal engineering database with senior leadership, distributed across the North American teams.
- Mentored a team of four.

Queen's University, BASc, Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduated 2023. Dean's Scholar for academic excellence across all four years.
- Capstone (MECH 460): a carbon-fibre competition-vehicle chassis for the Queen's Supermileage team — designed in SolidWorks, analysed in ANSYS, and delivered under the rulebook weight limit at under a third of the budget.
- Foundations in mechanical design, structural analysis, and programming (Python, MATLAB, C), applied on team projects throughout.
